Privacy & Telemetry Policy

Stellar Age ("the App") is built as an offline-first, single-player mobile space strategy RPG. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimal data required to maintain application stability, balance gameplay progression, verify optional store transactions, and provide optional cross-device cloud backup.

1. Local-First Data Storage (Default Offline Mode)

By default, 100% of your game progress—including planetary resource stockpiles, facility levels, research queues, starship fleets, settings, and unlocked entitlements—is stored strictly locally on your device using an embedded local database (Hive CE). You can play the entire game offline without creating an account or providing any personal information.

2. Optional Sub-Space Cloud Archive (Firebase Auth & Cloud Firestore)

If you voluntarily choose to enable cross-device backup via the in-app Sub-Space Cloud Archive card in Command Protocols (Settings):

  • Email Address & Authentication: We use Google Firebase Authentication to send a passwordless sign-in magic link to the email address you provide. Your email address and account identifier are used exclusively to authenticate your cloud save slot.
  • Cloud Save Snapshot: When authenticated, your serialized game save state (planet names, levels, resource balances, timestamps, and progression data) is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore.
  • Disconnecting: You may disconnect your account at any time using the DISCONNECT button in Settings, which signs out your device and reverts your session to local-only mode.

3. Anonymous Crash Reporting & Gameplay Telemetry

  • Firebase Crashlytics: We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash traces, fatal/non-fatal error logs, device model, and OS version when unexpected runtime, storage, or billing errors occur. This data is used solely to diagnose and fix software bugs.
  • Firebase Analytics: We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, pseudonymous gameplay metrics (such as screen views, facility upgrades, expedition launches, and store purchase completion statuses) to balance the game economy and progression pacing.

4. In-App Purchases & Payment Security

All real-money In-App Purchases (IAP) are processed directly by Apple Inc. (App Store / StoreKit) or Google LLC (Google Play Billing). We never collect, view, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank account information, or billing address. We receive only a platform transaction confirmation receipt to deliver your in-game items and prevent duplicate fulfillment.

5. Local Push Notifications

If enabled in Settings, Stellar Age schedules local device notifications (such as offline pirate raid warnings, construction completions, and fleet returns) directly on your device. No external push notification marketing tokens are shared with third parties.

6. No Third-Party Advertising or Data Selling

Stellar Age contains no third-party advertising networks, does not track you across other apps or websites using advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), and never sells, rents, or trades your personal data to third parties.

7. Your Rights, Data Retention & Deletion (GDPR / CCPA)

  • Deleting Local Data: You can permanently wipe all local save data at any time inside the app via Settings ▸ Danger Zone ▸ Reset Campaign, or by uninstalling the App.
  • Deleting Cloud Save & Account Data: If you linked an email address for Cloud Backup and wish to permanently delete your Firebase Auth account record and Cloud Firestore save snapshot, email us at stellarageapp@gmail.com from your linked email address and we will permanently purge your cloud records within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Stellar Age does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has submitted an email address via the optional Cloud Backup feature without parental consent, please contact us at stellarageapp@gmail.com for immediate removal.
